Past Projects at OU

During a meeting, we wrote positive messages on smiley face balloons and then passed them out to random students on campus, along with some pizza (Fall 2018).

During a meeting we wrote thank you notes on bright colored paper with a border of fall leaves for faculty and staff.  We then delivered them to the faculty and staff on a separate day (Fall 2018).

We packed each of 40 stockings and hats with candy, BPA free decorative water bottles, toothpaste, a toothbrush, and a festive card with a nice message handwritten by our participants.  Some stockings and hats with less candy had window clings.  As a separate event on the morning of December 24th, 2018, we hand delivered these to people in downtown OKC near a bus station and near homeless shelters.

At Our first meeting of this Spring 2019 semester, we wrote positive messages to go in tins along with gummy bears. We also colored pages. We passed these tins and works of art to random students we saw upon leaving the meeting.

On February 21, 2019, we delivered thank you notes to professors. The notes were written by our members at our meeting on February 18th.

We had fun on March 7, 2019 surprising an OU professor who had recently lost her mother-in-law. Members and classmates brought cans of Dr. Pepper, a T-shirt, candy, and money that went toward a colorful lamp. At a meeting we put these items together along with Genetics/nature themed coloring pages that some members colored and a card that members and classmates stopped by to sign and write nice messages on.

We volunteered for Habitat for Humanity on March 9, 2019. We did everything from caulking, taping, and painting to hammering small nails and putting hinges on doors. We made great progress on this house, which will ultimately allowed someone in need who qualified to have a house at a small fraction of the cost.

During our meeting on April 1, 2019, we passed out balloons with encouraging messages and also wrote positive messages on a board in the library that students are allowed to use freely.

On April 13, 2019, we painted murals at Prairie Queen Elementary School for The Big Event.

On April 19, 2019, on the South Oval at OU, we had a drawing for donated prizes, raising $115 at our first fundraiser.  Half of this was donated to Center for Children and Families in Norman, and the other half was saved for a club T-shirt fund.  Our members designed some cool signs for the fundraising event and helped out at the table.
